We handle both older R12 refrigerant gas systems (pre-1992 approx) as well as all modern R134a refrigerant systems. For the older R12 systems it is now impossible, due to environmental legislation, to offer this gas type. One solution is to offer a true 'drop in' replacement to R12 known as RS24. The second solution is to completely retrofit your system to work with R134a refrigerant.

Our company provides a complete series of services to our customers.

1) Service regas R12 pre 1992                 £79 (includes UV dye/RS24 gas)

Service includes:

• System Inspection & Report
• Gas analysis with customer copy printout
• In-Car temperature pre-service air conditioning system performance
• De-Gas & Vacuum system to waste or recycling bottles
• Deep Vacuum system & Re-Charge with virgin or recycled gas
• Add correct amount & grade of compressor oil
• Final Leak Test using electronic sniffer
• Repeat In-Car temperature performance test; post-service aircon system performance

2) Retrofit from R12 TO R134a                   £50

• This involves changing the system oil, gas and service port connectors to the modern equivalents

3) Pressure test and fault diagnosis          £35 (Minimum call out fee)

• Leak Test using OFN (Oxygen Free Nitrogen) pressure test

4) Deodoriser treatment                            £25 (as part of regas)

• The intrinsic nature of the air conditioning operation means that fungus and bacteria can build up on the internal evaporator of the car
• This build up of bacteria can result in what is commonly known as "sick car syndrome". Not only is an offensive smell given off whenever the air conditioning is switched on , but occupants can feel sick or contract ear, nose and throat infections from your system
• We treat the evaporator with a specially formulated Air Conditioner anti-bacterial spray that kills all the bugs and leaves your air conditioning smelling sweet

5) Pollen filter replacement                        £10 (excludes filter)

• This stops pollen and dirt from entering the passenger compartment of the vehicle

6) Ultra violet dye additive                          £15 (included in regas)

• This service involves the use of a special UV dye injected into the system during the Recharge procedure
• This test is particularly useful when trying to detect leaks in the internal (under dash) evaporator unit. It is the most reliable way of determining a problem with this major part, without spending hours (at great cost) to remove an evaporator only to find it is not faulty

7a) Leak stopper additive                               £15 (as part of regas)

7b) Leak Sealer additive                                £40 (as part of regas)

• Where a leak test shows up a very small leak it may be possible to fix this type of leak without replacing a part or making a repair to that part
• This sealant is specially formulated for Air Conditioning systems (both old and new) to seal existing leaks, and remains in the system to seal any future leaks
• The leak repair option will only work for very small leaks and should be approached with caution. Major leaks need to be dealt with in the proper manner by replacing the faulty parts. We will advise as appropriate and customers should recognise that there is a degree of uncertainty attached to this treatment.
• Once attempted we regret that we can not refund the cost of this procedure if it fails to fix the problem.

Note:-

• Some of the above services assume there is some gas left in your system to test with and it is possible to run the system in its 'faulty' state
• Services involving the removal of contaminated gas will incur a charge of £15.00 per kilogram of gas recovered for waste disposal
• It is illegal (EPA Act 1990) to vent refrigerant gases (contaminated or otherwise) to the atmosphere and the only way to dispose of them safely is through incineration in special treatment plants (which costs money)
• Our standard rate for other work in the process of servicing or carrying out repairs to your Air Conditioning system is charged out at £45.00 per hour
• There is a minimum callout fee of £35. This includes a pressure test and fault diagnosis. You can then decided if you wish to proceed with further repairs

• All gas re-charges and deodorising services are guaranteed for 3 months 
• All other repairs are guaranteed for 12 months as are any parts supplied and fitted by Kool Air Systems
